Obstetrics Services
Learn more about the obstetrics services we offer at Valley View Women's Health:
Prenatal Care
At Women’s Health at Valley View, we are dedicated to our patients and to helping them experience healthy and happy pregnancies. With prenatal care, we can meet with expecting parents at the beginning of their first trimester and provide care all the way through childbirth. Our experienced team of board-certified OB/GYNs and certified nurse midwives will review your medical history, request laboratory tests, and perform a physical examination at your initial visit.
Prenatal Testing
As a part of prenatal care at Women’s Health at Valley View, our team of board-certified OB/GYNs may suggest specific tests to check on the health of your baby. Based on your medical history and any current conditions or concerns, we can provide recommendations for common prenatal tests during a thorough consultation. Our team will also be able to consult with you about what each test entails and what you can expect throughout the process.
Ultrasounds
With the use of state-of-the-art technology, our team at Women’s Health at Valley View can provide ultrasounds for detailed images of your reproductive organs for various purposes throughout your life. During pregnancy, ultrasound is used to monitor your baby’s growth and development. Our AIUM certified staff provides the highest level of service in a warm and inviting environment.
C-Section
Cesarean delivery (C-section) is a surgical birth performed by making an incision in the abdomen and uterus. It is used when a vaginal delivery is not possible or if there are safety concerns for you or your baby. A C-section may be recommended for a number of different reasons prior to or during labor. Regardless of the reason for C-section, Women’s Health and the Family Birth Place strive to create a family-centered, baby-friendly C-section experience for you and your baby. C-sections are performed in a dedicated operating room within the Family Birth Place and we encourage you to invite your partner or support person to accompany you during the procedure. A Valley View pediatrician will attend the delivery and all newborn assessments and care are completed in the operating room so that you may initiate skin-to-skin contact with your new arrival as soon as possible.
VBAC
Vaginal birth after a cesarean (VBAC) is a birth that is performed vaginally rather than by surgery, with or without pain management. If you are pregnant and have had a C-section but would like to attempt a VBAC, call Women’s Health at Valley View in Glenwood Springs, Basalt, Eagle or Silt, Colorado. Our highly trained and experienced OB/GYNs and certified nurse midwives have been serving the Roaring Fork Valley community and beyond for many years and look forward to helping you grow your family.
