You don’t have to leave home to see the doctor. Virtual care visits including telehealth, video visits and more are offered through our primary care providers and specialists.
If you are experiencing COVID-19 like symptoms and do not require emergency care, VirtualCare may be a good option. Call your provider to learn more or schedule an appointment.
What is VirtualCare?
VirtualCare is a live, virtual visit with your provider either over the phone or via online video through your computer, tablet or smartphone. VirtualCare is not a replacement for your primary care physician, but it provides you with a convenient and fast way to connect with your provider for minor health issues.
Video visits are conducted through a variety of online platforms including:
- VV Physicians app (free to download in Apple app store and Android app store)
- Zoom
- Facetime
- And more
If and when you need a virtual care visit, your provider will give you instructions on how to do it.
When should I schedule a virtual care visit?
You can schedule a virtual care visit for a variety of reasons. Whether you can’t make it to the doctor due to your schedule, travel, children at home or you don’t want to drive, VirtualCare is a convenient way to access care.

What conditions can be treated through a virtual care visit?
Many conditions can be treated through a virtual care visit including cold & flu, headache, fever, sinus infection, allergies, and more.
Behavioral health is also offered and typically covered by most insurance plans.

Does insurance cover a virtual care visit?
Most insurance companies cover virtual care visits. Call your insurance provider to confirm your coverage level or for specific questions about your coverage.
Can my doctor prescribe medication over a virtual care visit?
Yes, a virtual care visit is just like a normal office visit and your provider may prescribe medication if he or she feels it is needed.
How long is a virtual care visit?
Visit types vary and can be as short as 10 minutes or as long as one hour. Most visits fall between 10-30 minutes.
