About Scott
Scott Castle, MD is a board-certified urologist at Valley View’s Rocky Mountain Urology Center. He received his medical degree at the University of Tennessee College of Medicine and completed his urology residency at Jackson Memorial Hospital, affiliated with the University of Miami School of Medicine. Prior to joining the Valley View family, Dr. Castle practiced in Columbia, SC where he was an assistant professor of surgery at the South Carolina College of Medicine. He is published in multiple peer-reviewed journals and has conducted a number of clinical trials throughout his career.
Dr. Castle is a general urologist with vast experience treating all urologic conditions including kidney stones, incontinence, bladder and kidney cancer, and men’s health issues. He is also a leader in da Vinci surgery, a minimally-invasive treatment for benign and cancerous conditions. The procedure is named for the da Vinci robotic system, which lets surgeons use their hand movements to control tiny instruments in real time. This treatment option can often give patients better quality of life post-surgery, particularly in terms of urinary function and sexual health for treatment of prostate cancer.
When it comes to his patients, Dr. Castle prioritizes his relationships. “I have a history of cancer in my family, which informs the way I do my job today,” he says. “I create bonds with my patients so I can give them the same empathy and personalized treatment I wanted for my own family members.”
Dr. Castle and his wife have two children, and physical activity is a big pastime for all of them. He is a former Ironman athlete, and these days, enjoys spending time outdoors with his family, happy to be in the mountains with easy access to skiing and other wintertime activities.
