About Peter

Peter Rossi, MD manages a broad range of cancers as a radiation oncologist at Valley View Calaway•Young Cancer Center in Glenwood Springs, CO. Working with a multidisciplinary team, his compassionate approach focuses on each individual patient.

Dr. Rossi is an expert in several approaches to cancer treatment, including brachytherapy, SRS and SBRT.

Dr. Rossi aims to ensure his patients’ dignity and quality of life. He engages both conventional and complementary therapies.

Dr. Rossi’s research focuses on advanced technologies and improving patients’ quality of life. As a key thought leader in his field with over 70 primary publications, he speaks regularly at national and international oncology conferences. He has held leadership positions in American Society for Radiation Oncology (ASTRO) and is president-elect of the American Brachytherapy Society.

Before joining Calaway•Young Cancer Center, Dr. Rossi served as medical director of oncology for Emory Saint Joseph’s Hospital. At Emory University School of Medicine, he was awarded the James Cox Kennedy endowed chair in prostate cancer. Earlier in his career, he served overseas as a medical officer in the Navy.

Dr. Rossi and his family are active members of the Roaring Fork Valley community. His wife, Mila, is a local artist.

Dr. Rossi is proud to offer the most advanced radiation oncology treatments in Western Colorado. As a board-certified radiation oncologist, Dr. Peter Rossi works with the doctors on the cancer care team at Valley View Hospital in Glenwood Springs, CO to create a personalized treatment plan for each patient. He is board-certified in radiation oncology by the American Board of Radiology. He has more than 15 years of clinical experience and participates in a multidisciplinary team on a daily basis and utilizes multi-institutional academic research to provide his patients with the best possible care.

Dr. Rossi graduated medical school from Wayne State University School of Medicine in Detroit, MI and served his internship at the Naval Medical Center in San Diego, CA. From there, he served his residency at Wake Forest Baptist Hospital in Winston-Salem, NC and after completing his training, he relocated to Glenwood Springs, CO.
