About Katherine

Kate Van Deventer is an obstetrics and gynecology doctor at Women’s Health at Valley View. She earned her medical degree at the University of Colorado Anschutz School of Medicine and completed her OBGYN residency at University of California, Davis.

Dr. Van Deventer is a strong advocate for equity in obstetrics and gynecological care for women and nonbinary individuals, having sat on local and regional committees. Her professional and research interests focus on sports medicine in women’s health.

In her practice, Kate prioritizes connecting with her patients. “I want to ensure that my patients feel safe to discuss all aspects of their health and empowered to take preventative action to support their wellbeing,” she says. She provides full spectrum care with particular interest in minimally invasive gynecologic surgery, including robotic surgery, as well as high-risk obstetrics, pelvic floor disorders, contraceptive counseling, infertility and well-woman care.

A Colorado native, she came to the Roaring Fork Valley in 2011 working as an artist, ski instructor and avalanche instructor. After completing her medical training, she was thrilled to return to Colorado and to be closer to family. Outside of work, Dr. Van Deventer and her husband enjoy sharing all that Colorado has to offer with their rambunctious toddler and cattle dog.
