About Jacinda
Jacinda Stroud, MSN, FNP-BC is a certified nurse practitioner at the Calaway-Young Cancer Center. She earned her Master of Science in Nursing from Gonzaga University in 2018.
Jacinda has been working in health care since 2009 when she started as an emergency medical technician. After graduating with her registered nursing degree in 2012, she worked in acute inpatient care with surgical specialties, followed by labor and delivery. As a nurse practitioner, she has worked in primary care, COVID-19 community health, general surgery and outpatient mental health. She is trauma-informed, LGBTQI+ inclusive, and well-versed in military culture and veteran care.
“I am passionate about working closely with patients, hearing their stories, learning their health priorities and working with them to successfully navigate challenging health issues that arise,” she says. “I have a deep sense of commitment to the quality of life for those I work with. This includes improving and maintaining overall wellness as best as possible”.
Jacinda is a strong advocate for patient access to care and aims to empower patients throughout their lifespan. “Over my years in health care I’ve learned that although it was medical knowledge and clinical skills that initially interested me, it is working with patients, getting to know them and supporting them on their health care journeys, that has kept me engaged,” she says.
Originally from New Mexico, Jacinda now lives in Gypsum, Colorado with her spouse and cherished fur babies – two pugs and a cat. According to Jacinda, “Regardless of the season or geographic location, nature is my sanctuary, and the place I find grounding and comfort.” In her free time, she likes to read, snowboard, travel and listen to podcasts.
