About Heather

Heather Reiley, MD is a pediatrician with Valley View’s Pediatric Partners. She attained her medical degree from the University of Massachusetts Medical School in 2020 and subsequently completed her pediatric residency at the Maine Medical Center in Portland, ME.

Dr. Reiley is an accomplished wilderness and rural physician, having completed an interdisciplinary program in medical school focused on providing care in rural contexts where resources are more limited. Further, she obtained her Wilderness First Responder certification from the Wilderness Medicine Institute and has worked both overseas and domestically in a variety of rural clinical environments.

Dr. Reiley has been visiting the Roaring Fork Valley her entire life. In fact, her grandparents have been coming to Aspen to ski since the 1940s, and she has previously worked for the Aspen Institute, one of the most venerable institutions in Aspen’s history. “I always dreamed of coming back and practicing pediatrics in the Roaring Fork Valley,” she says. “In fact, my sister is an assistant principal at Carbondale Middle School, so I’ve got something to chat with many of my patients about as I get to know them.”

Dr. Reiley’s academic interests help to inform her philosophy of care. “As an undergrad I majored in geography and international studies,” she says. “As such I tend to view health policy and medicine through a global lens. Location generally determines health outcomes and standards of care, but my job is to bridge as many of those gaps as possible and provide excellent care to every population I come into contact with.” Dr. Reiley enjoys traveling and trekking in her spare time— “My favorite way to experience a place is to explore it on foot,” she says. She currently lives in Glenwood Springs with her significant other, their dog and a pair of cats.
