About Brigid

Brigid O'Holleran, MD is a breast surgeon at The Breast Center at Valley View. She earned her medical doctorate from the University of Nebraska School of Medicine and completed her general surgery residence at University of Utah. Dr. O'Holleran is a member of American Society of Breast Surgeons and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons.

Prior to joining Valley View, Dr. O'Holleran held a position at Mercy Hospital in Durango, Colorado, where she was a general surgeon with a specialty in breast surgery. At Valley View, Dr. O'Holleran specializes in the surgical care of malignant and benign breast disease including breast cancer, ductal carcinoma in situ (DCIS), non-cancerous breast lumps and abnormal mammogram findings.

In addition to her work as a surgeon, Dr. O'Holleran offers consultation for high risk patients at the Breast Center, for those who have an elevated risk of breast cancer related to a genetic mutation or family history of breast cancer. "I want to be a resource for patients, so they have someone to talk with-about cancer prevention, risk reduction and early detection of breast cancer," she says.

When working with patients, Dr. O'Holleran provides personalized surgical care and prioritizes communication with patients. She helps them understand their condition and options for treatment, so they feel empowered to make a decision that aligns with their values and health goals. She also values collaborating with colleagues in the Cancer Center at Valley View in a multi-disciplinarian approach to treating breast cancer. "By working with our team of medical oncologists and radiation oncologists, together we can make the optimal treatment recommendation for our patients," she says.

Originally from Nebraska, Dr. O'Holleran, her husband and three children live in the Roaring Fork Valley. Outside of work, Dr. O'Holleran enjoys downhill and Nordic skiing, mountain biking and camping with her active family in tow.
