About Alexandra
Alexandra Bratschie is a certified nurse midwife (CNM) and nurse practitioner at Women’s Health at Valley View. She received her Bachelor of Science in nursing from Johns Hopkins University and Master of Science degree from Georgetown University. Before joining Valley View, Alex worked in various settings including out of hospital birthing centers, private practice, federally qualified health centers and residency practice. She brings all of these experiences to offer care that is evidenced based, patient centered and compassionate.
“I love the opportunity that every visit offers,” she says. “When it comes to reproductive and women’s health care, everything should be individualized and women should be trusted and heard. In the best circumstances, I get to take care of women and their families past the pregnancy too, which is just incredibly rewarding.”
Alex also believes her work extends beyond the clinic. “My job is to understand policy and advocate for women in that space, just as much as in the clinical settings,” she says. “I really encourage women and their families to be active participants in their own care. Putting best practices into action is a real passion of mine, and I think women benefit when they are fully educated about their choices and then have full access to those choices.”
Alex lives in Eagle with her two children, husky Kali and cat Nora. “Like so many people living here, I love spending time outside in the sun,” she says. “I love being involved in my community and seeing familiar faces out and about.”
