Valley View Volunteers are a compassionate and dedicated group of individuals that contribute their time, talents and energy to the health and well-being of our community. Volunteers play a key role in the healing presence and culture of our hospital. The need for volunteers is great, and the rewards are even greater.
To participate in the volunteer program, we ask the following of you:
- Complete an application, a background check, and health screening with the office of volunteer services.
- Attend volunteer orientation and specific training related to your volunteer assignment.
- Adhere to all Valley View policies and procedures.
- Must be 15 years of age.
When we receive your application, we will contact you to arrange an interview at which time we will talk about your interests and our available positions.

Shadowing Opportunities:
Valley View offers job shadow opportunities to those who complete the requirements and speak with a Human Recourse representative prior to scheduling a shadow opportunity. Number of hours depend on department availability.
Requirements:
- Complete the attached shadow paperwork
- Complete a TB test with public health (phone number (970) 945-6614.)
- Email a copy of TB test results and a current flu shoot record to Valley View at shadowing@vvh.org
- Send a copy of driver’s license
- Check in with Human Resources at Valley View the day prior to shadowing to pick up ID badge.
On the day of your job shadow:
- Dress professionally and in accordance with the dress code shared by your host.
- Bring a notepad and pen so you can jot down names, notes and questions.
- Arrive 10-15 minutes early.
- Keep your cell phone muted so that you can give your undivided attention to what you are learning.
- Be prepared to sign HIPAA agreement forms requested by Valley, and then keep the details of what you hear, see and learn confidential.
- Treat this opportunity as the privilege it is by giving everyone you meet your full attention, smiling, introducing yourself, offering firm handshakes, making eye contact, and asking thoughtful questions.
