What Is Inpatient Rehabilitation?

Inpatient rehabilitation is a crucial service often required when patients need intensive therapy to recover from severe illnesses, injuries, or surgeries. It's a specialized level of care designed to improve patients' physical functioning, quality of life, and independence. With a team of dedicated therapists, we provide personalized treatment plans that cater to the unique needs of each specific patient.

Our therapists assist patients across various departments, including the emergency department, day surgery department, and the acute and critical care units of the hospital. The main goal is to help you regain confidence and adapt seamlessly to your home environment once you’re ready.

Physical therapists to assist in your inpatient rehabilitation may include Kelly Ashnault, PT; Troy Harbour, PT; Heidi Levy, MPT; or Hannah Robb, PT. The physical therapy team focuses on improving your mobility, strength, and balance.

Our occupational therapy team includes Amy Burtelow, OTR; Claudine Mason, OTR/L; Jessica McClung, OTR/L; and Ellen Terry, MOT, OTR/L. The goal of occupational therapy is to help patients regain their daily living and working skills.

If you or your loved one is in need of speech and language therapy, they will be seen by Molly Damico, M.S., CCC-SLP; Cristina Lambert, MS, CCC-SLP; or Natasha Patete, MS, CCC-SLP, CDP. Speech and language therapists help patients work toward enhancing communication abilities and managing swallowing disorders.
