April 26, 2018, GLENWOOD SPRINGS, COLO – The Practice Transition Accreditation further validates Valley View’s Nurse Residency Program, transitioning registered nurses (RNs) into new practice that meet rigorous, evidence-based standards for quality and excellence. Valley View is the first accredited American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) RN residency program in Colorado. Nurses in accredited transition programs promote the acquisition of knowledge, skills and professional behaviors necessary to deliver safe, high-quality care.
Valley View was recognized in the accreditation report for demonstrating several processes on how peer support is integrated into the program, and also for the use of incremental goals to promote the developmental needs of its nurses.
“We are very proud that the Valley View Nurse Residency Program has been recognized by ANCC as one of the highest-quality transition programs,” said Gary Brewer, chief executive officer.
“It is an honor to be designated with distinction,” said Sandy Hurley, chief nursing officer. “ANCC accreditation gives nurse residents assurance that Valley View offers an elevated transition program with a clear course of instruction and reliable evaluation methods, which is incredibly valuable to our nurse recruitment efforts,” she said.
