Valley View Welcomes Brigid O'Holleran, MD, to the Breast Center at Valley View

The Breast Center at Valley View is pleased to welcome breast surgeon Brigid O'Holleran, MD, to its established, experienced team of providers. The Breast Center at Valley View is the premier breast care facility on Colorado’s Western Slope, helping patients with all their breast-related concerns. 

Dr. O'Holleran specializes in the surgical care of malignant and benign breast disease including breast cancer, ductal carcinoma in situ (DCIS), non-cancerous breast lumps and abnormal mammogram findings. In addition to her work as a surgeon, Dr. O'Holleran offers consultations for high-risk patients, who have an elevated risk of breast cancer related to a genetic mutation or family history of breast cancer.

Dr. O'Holleran provides personalized surgical care and prioritizes communication with patients. She helps her patients understand their condition and options for treatment so they feel empowered to make decisions that align with their values and health goals. Her multi-disciplinary approach to treating breast cancer involves collaborating with her oncology colleagues in the Calaway-Young Cancer Center.

"I want to be a resource for patients providing guidance on cancer prevention, risk reduction and early detection of breast cancer," says Dr. O'Holloran. "By working with a team of medical oncologists and radiation oncologists, we can make the optimal treatment recommendation for patients."

Dr. O'Holleran earned her medical doctorate from the University of Nebraska School of Medicine and completed her general surgery residency at the University of Utah. She is an American Society of Breast Surgeons member and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. Before joining Valley View, Dr. O'Holleran was a general surgeon with a specialty in breast surgery at Mercy Hospital in Durango, Colorado.
