Valley View Welcomes Cardiothoracic Surgeon Dr. Saeed Ally to the Heart and Vascular Team

The Heart and Vascular Center at Valley View is pleased to welcome Cardiothoracic Surgeon Saeed Ally, MD to the team.

Dr. Ally brings a number of new services to the Heart and Vascular Center where he will assist with continuing to grow its cardiothoracic surgery program. These new offerings include robotic lung surgeries, lower extremity peripheral vascular surgeries and endovascular repair of descending thoracic aneurysms. He will also provide additional support to the existing aorta, aortic valve and mitral valve surgeries that take place at Valley View Hospital.

“By adding these services, we can better serve the community, and patients won’t have to travel distances to get sophisticated surgical care,” says Dr. Ally.

Dr. Ally has had a long and notable career in cardiothoracic surgery. He was first in private practice in Texas, followed by surgery positions in Fargo, North Dakota and Appleton, Wisconsin. Most recently he was chief of cardiothoracic surgery at the Carle Foundation Hospital at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign. During this time, he was also an associate professor of surgery at the University of Illinois and director of the ECMO (extracorporeal membrane oxygenation, a type of artificial life support for lungs and heart) program.

He earned his medical degree from Ross University in Dominica and trained in general surgery at The Graduate Hospital affiliated with the University of Pennsylvania. He completed his residency in general surgery at the University of Kansas Medical Center and finished his fellowship in cardiothoracic surgery at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio, Texas.

“We are honored to have Dr. Ally join the Heart and Vascular Center at Valley View,” said Dr. Frank Laws, medical director of the Valley View Heart and Vascular Center. “Dr. Ally’s in-depth knowledge and illustrious career in cardiothoracic surgery will further the Heart and Vascular Center at Valley View’s commitment to remaining on the front lines of innovation, so that we can continue to deliver exceptional care.”

Originally from Texas, Dr. Ally is a resident of the Roaring Fork Valley, where he likes hiking and exploring the surrounding natural landscape. Outside of his medical practice, Dr. Ally advocates for environmental cleanliness and, in particular, eliminating solid waste pollution. Dr. Ally also holds a degree in engineering and is actively engaged in, and continues to work on personal, non-medical projects aimed at eliminating environmental pollution globally.
