Rocky Mountain Urology Center at Valley View Performs More Than 150 Aquablation Treatments

For men suffering from benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) or enlarged prostate, Valley View’s Rocky Mountain Urology Center has recently introduced a new, minimally invasive, highly effective treatment called aquablation. This groundbreaking procedure combines multi-dimensional imaging, automated robotic technology and heat-free waterjet ablation technology for targeted, controlled and immediate removal of obstructive prostate tissue.

In just over a year, board-certified urologists Dr. Scott Castle, Dr. Aashish Kabra, Dr. Jamie Lowe and Dr. Stephen Williams of Rocky Mountain Urology Center have, combined, performed more than 150 aquablation procedures. Rocky Mountain Urology Center at Valley View is one of only a few hospitals in Colorado to offer this advanced technology and the first on the Western Slope.

“This new technology is changing the way men approach the very common issue of enlarged prostate,” says Dr. Kabra.

“Aquablation is highly effective and has much fewer side effects compared to previously available treatments. We are proud to be able to provide such a game-changing procedure for our patients.”
One in two men ages 51 to 60 have BPH, and if left untreated, it can cause significant health problems such as incontinence, bladder and kidney damage, bladder stones and urinary pain. In contrast to previous treatments, aquablation is minimally invasive, and causes no sexual side effects or disfunction.
