After 17 outstanding years, Valley View has ended its community health fairs. In working with primary care providers from across the community, Valley View and its partners have determined the best healthcare starts with a relationship with a primary care provider. Now, thanks to a multitude of providers who specialize in primary care in the community, from Valley View’s Internal Medicine and Glenwood Medical Associates to Mountain Family Health Center and Valley View’s Roaring Fork Family Practice, strong access to a provider is available. Additionally, preventive care such as annual physicals and screening is now covered by most insurance. Valley View is grateful to its community partners, volunteers, and staff who worked for nearly two decades to offer this community service.
Moving forward, Valley View recommends scheduling an appointment with a primary care provider for physical screenings, annual physicals, and questions about an individual’s health. For those who do not have a primary care provider, Valley View has over 30 English- and Spanish-speaking providers in Glenwood Springs, Eagle, Silt, Carbondale, and Willits, welcoming new patients. These visits are typically covered by most insurance plans and information about coverage can be obtained directly from the insurance company.
For general health, wellness, and screening information, Valley View has created a virtual health fair comprised of videos, screening resources, and information about a multitude of health-related topics. Valley View’s own providers cover a variety of topics including breast health, skin health and diabetes, and lifestyle health. Learn more about the virtual health fair at vvh.org/health-fair.
