GARFIELD COUNTY, CO – On December 30, the Governor’s office announced new guidance for the COVID-19 Phase 1B group, which now includes people age 70 and older. Beginning Monday, January 4, residents of Garfield County age 70 and older can make appointments at Grand River Health or Valley View Hospital to receive their COVID-19 vaccine.

“Garfield County Public Health, Grand River Health and Valley View are excited to respond to this change and move forward with the Governor’s order,” said Yvonne Long, Garfield County Public Health Director.

No walk-ins are being accepted at this time. An appointment is required to receive the vaccine. Vaccine supply is still very limited and other Phase 1A and 1B vaccinations are still ongoing. Additional clinics will be made available as additional vaccine supplies are received.

Vaccine scheduling hotlines are open Monday thru Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

To make an appointment at Grand River Health call 970-625-1100. To make an appointment at Valley View Hospital call the COVID-19 Community Hotline at 970.384.7632.

Scheduling is based on the availability of vaccine doses. If local hospitals do not have enough doses, individuals will be placed on a waitlist.
