Hospital Earns ‘Top Performer’ Recognition From the Joint Commission

Valley View Hospital Has Been Recognized by the Joint Commission as a ‘Top Performer on Key Quality Measures®’ 2014
For the fourth consecutive year, VVH has been recognized by The Joint Commission as a ‘Top Performer on Key Quality Measures®’ for heart attack, surgical and perinatal care. Achieving top performance status from the the leading hospital accreditor in America is an exceptional accomplishment, and demonstrates the commitment, teamwork and dedication to providing high quality evidence-based care.
To be recognized as a top performer in any one of the key quality measures, the organization must:
- achieve cumulative performance of 95 percent or above across all reported accountability measures,
- achieve performance of 95 percent or above on each and every reported accountability measure (where there are at least 30 cases), and
- have at least one core measure set that has a composite rate of 95 percent or above, and within that measure set, all applicable individual accountability measures have a performance rate of 95 percent or above.A 95 percent score means a hospital provided an evidence based practice 95 times out of 100 opportunities.
