Procedure Details?

Patients will be welcomed into a private changing room so they can remove any articles of clothing or jewelry (if necessary) to change into a hospital gown for their assessment. The location of the target area will determine the position of the patient and the machine. For example, if the ribs are being X-rayed, a patient will lie down on a treatment table as the X-ray machine is properly centered by the technologist to capture images. In some cases, a contrast is used to help improve the visibility of certain organs or tissues. As the electromagnetic film passes through the body, the images are generated onto film, which results in a black, white, and gray picture.
