Electrophysiology

Electrophysiology Lab at Valley View

Arrhythmias of the heart such as atrial fibrillation, bradycardia, tachycardia, ventricular tachycardia, supraventricular tachycardia, and others can be easily treated in our electrophysiology lab. Our primary focus has been on the treatment of atrial fibrillation.

Treatments

Pacemaker Implants

  • A small electronic device that is placed in your chest via a small incision. It is recommended to help control abnormal slow heart rhythms.

Cardiac Device Implants

  • Designed to protect you from life-threatening cardiac arrhythmias by defibrillation therapy and pacing of the heart. They are inserted via a small incision on the chest.

Biventricular Pacemaker/Defibrillator Implants

  • Designed to coordinate the pumping function of both sides of the heart.

Diagnostic Electrophysiology Studies

  • This is a procedure were the electrophysiologist is able to closely evaluate the electrical function of your heart. The purpose of this is to find the most appropriate treatment for your heart rhythm.

Advanced Radiofrequency (RF) Ablations

  • This is a procedure where heat is used to ablate heart tissue responsible for abnormal heart rhythms.

Cryoablations and Laser ablations

  • A procedure where cold or laser is used to ablate heart tissue responsible for abnormal heart rhythms.
