Neurosurgical services were brought to Valley View Hospital with the arrival of Dr. David Miller in 2007. The ability to perform neurosurgical procedures augments the level of emergency care locally, especially in cases of trauma involving head injuries. Dr. Miller came to the Roaring Fork Valley from Scottsbluff, Nebraska where he spent several years as a staff neurosurgeon at the Regional West Medical Center. He has also practiced at the Colorado Center for Brain and Spinal Surgery in Denver and at the Cleveland Clinic.

Skilled in a wide range of neurosurgical procedures, his expertise ranges from brain surgery, including tumor excision, to complex spinal reconstruction. Dr. Miller’s practice philosophy is patient-centered and every effort is made to treat problems conservatively.  He has a special interest in minimally invasive surgical procedures and tries to employ them whenever indicated. Above all, Dr. Miller strives to give his patients and their families the attention they deserve.
